When you open Unreal Engine, go to Edit > Editor Prefences from the top menus and type "CPU" in the search field.
If the Use less CPU when in background option is checked, it will slow down if you minimize or deselect the Unreal Engine window.
If dual monitors are running and you want the UE window to act quickly, uncheck the box.
But if it minimizes frequently and when you leave the window you are not doing anything with unreal, check this option to conserve CPU resources.
